Hey guys! Happy Monday! In today’s episode, I’m chatting with Kaitlin Christensen about how she built a flexible freelancing career while managing motherhood and narcolepsy. Kailyn has a background in marketing, but her medical condition, narcolepsy, forced her to leave the traditional workforce.
After being a stay-at-home mom for five years, Kaitlin was eager to find something flexible that allowed her to manage her health while contributing financially. In August 2023, she found LFA through a mom in a local Facebook group, and by September, she was all in. Just a month later, Kaitlin landed her first client!
Freelancing has given Kaitlin a renewed sense of purpose outside of motherhood. Kaitlin now works with a retainer client for 15-25 hours a month, with additional project-based work on the side. She shares how she landed her retainer client, what her work looks like, and how she manages her time as a work-from-home mom. Kaitlin’s story is a testament to the flexibility that freelancing can offer, even when traditional work isn’t an option.
