Hey there! Happy Monday! Today we’re chatting with Jenelle Rawlins, a former ELA teacher who launched her freelance business and replaced her income while teaching full time. Jenelle enrolled in the Live Free Academy in November 2023, spent December going through the course, and by January 2024, she had landed three clients through a monthly Land Your First (or next) Client challenge!
Initially, Jenelle had a two-year plan to quit teaching. She wanted to build up a nest egg, replace her income, and eventually leave her full-time job. But after consistently earning $2K a month while still teaching, she realized that she’d be able to resign from teaching at the end of the year! She resigned this past summer, scaled her business, and her monthly income jumped up tremendously. (She earned $7.5K last month!)
Jenelle shares how she balanced freelancing and teaching full-time, getting up early to work before her family woke up, and being fully present for them in the evenings. While it was challenging, it was temporary and allowed her to build the life she wanted.
Jenelle dives into how she landed her clients and discusses the services she offers. She also opens up about overcoming imposter syndrome and how focusing on her mindset helped her succeed.
