Is the freelance market saturated?

289: Is the freelance market saturated?

Hey you guys! I’m excited to be back this week with another episode, and today’s episode is something I have been asked multiple times.

Is the freelance market saturated?

Are there too many freelancers already out there?

The short answer is no! You can be successful as a freelancer and experience the joys of running your own business, setting your own schedule, and contributing to your family financially.

I break that question down for a you a bit more in today’s episode and talk you through the benefits of being a part of a growing freelance market.

One is that as more people jump into freelancing, it brings an awareness to the space! When I first started out as a freelancer, online business owners were the predominant people hiring freelancers (and that is a lot of business already – influencers, bloggers, online coaches, online course creatros, TpT sellers, Etsy sellers,

Now, local business owners are learning more and more that they can hire freelancers to take care of their behind-the-scenes tasks. Think realtors, restaurants, salons, therapists, CPAs, attorneys, offices, and beyond.

In today’s episode, I also talk you through how some of the students in the Live Free Academy are landing clients right now. Each month we host a monthly challenge called Land Your First (or Next) Client Challange, and I asked this month’s participants what they are doing and what’s working for them in connecting with potential clients. The group shared eight different ideas! Tune in to hear the routes and ideas they shared.

Last thing, if you are totally new to freelancing and just trying to see if it’s a good fit for you and your family, then check out my Freelance Crash Course. In this free course, I walk you through the ins and outs of freelancing and how to land paying clients.

After you finish my crash course, go back and listen to episode 228 where I talk about all of the different routes you can take to land freelance clients.

Thanks for listening, and please let me know if you have any questions! Email or DM me.  This episode came directly from a few different women wondering if the freelance market is saturated and reaching out and asking. Your question could be our next episode!

More about the Live Free Podcast with Micala Quinn:

How do I get started? What if I fail? Who will hire me? Is it really possible to create a consistent, full-time income from home?

Welcome to the Live Free Podcast with Micala Quinn where we will be answering these questions PLUS many more! Whether you’re just starting your freelance business (heck even if you don’t know what freelancing is yet) or you’re looking to scale, this podcast will give you tangible business advice along with inspiring interviews to help you create a life and career that works for YOU and YOUR family.

Your host, Micala Quinn, started out teaching high-school English, but when her first child was born, she immediately began searching for something more. She wanted a way to stay-at-home with her daughter (and future babies), but still needed to bring in a full-time income to help support her family. Micala started freelancing, quickly replaced her full-time income, and now helps other moms (like you) get started and grow their freelance business from scratch to 5K and beyond! She believes that being a working mom or a stay-at-home mom no longer needs to be a black and white decision. You CAN have both. On your terms!
